Bridge Initiative Organisation

Bridge Initiative Organization is registered as non-governmental organization in Zanzibar –Tanzania, formed by individuals who identify themselves as youth and MSMs. It was established and registered under the Zanzibar Registration of NGO act L.2540 in 2016 to advocate for and bridge gaps on protecting the human rights of youth and MSM communities on Unguja and Pemba (Zanzibar). BIO operate through raising self-awareness and self-acceptance, and developing consciousness through spiritual education and healing among those who are marginalized based on their sexual orientation and gender identity. BIO build the organization to initiate activities and movements that will improve the lives the MSM communities through understanding, acceptance and justice. BIO operate throughout Zanzibar and working under the international commitments including Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 3: Good health and well-being, GOAL 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, GOAL 10: Reduced Inequality, GOAL 16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions and GOAL 17: Partnerships to achieve the Goal).
