Dobiyan Women and Youth Empowerment Initiative

Dobian Women and Youth Empowerment Initiative is a non governmental non- profit, non-political and non –Religious organisation founded in 1998, but Registered with CORPOARTE Affairs commission in November, 2010 certificate number CAC/IT/NO 41841. Dobiyan women and youth empowerment initiative is a non-governmental organisation that is concerened with assisting rural women, youth and children towards productive living in the community. Dobiyan is also concern about girl child education, especially drop out from school due to one reason or the other. The initiative was born out of compassion for vulnerable women, youth and children in song local government area, but now extends into other Local Governments of Adamawa State, as a result of the insurgency and perennial flooding which has destroyed the livelihoods of families in the past few years.
The organisation has been carrying out great task with maximum success for quite a number of years before its formal incorporation with the Cooperate Affair Commission in November, 2010. The primary goal of the organisation is to build the capacity of the women and youth in the rural areas as well as to advocates for the rights and privileges of the children and vulnerable in the society. We believe that acheveing this set goal, would foster peaceful co-existence in families and have a ripple effect to the society.
Dobiyan is working towards providing comprenhensive care and support that will bring relief to the families and communities who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and other related infectious diseases in a loving and compassionate way and mitigate the scourge of these infection among these groups and beyond through result oriented strategies to give hope to the hopeless.
