KANCO is a membership organization with more than 1200 registered members. Our membership comprises national networks, National NGO's, CBOs, FBOs and Learning Institutions that are working in or have interests in health programs.
Our work centers around health policy advocacy, Increased access to health through innovative health programming, provision of technical support to CSOs including member CSOs to effectively engage in the National health response and supporting CSOs to improve on their organizational capacities.
KANCO Champions health programs in Kenya and in the region. Among the Flagship projects that KANCO has implemented includes 1). taking a lead role in pushing for the declaration of HIV and AIDs as a national disaster and the subsequent drawing of the Sessional paper number 4 upon which the National HIV response was built, Took a lead role in TB advocacy that led to the adoption of community led approaches where community TB champions started taking a lead role in TB prevention and treatment messaging, 3) Supported the advocacy efforts that led to the creation of national members of parliament TB caucus to advocate for increased domestic funding for TB, 4) Championed Harm reduction in Kenya and in the larger Eastern Africa Region that has resulted in the widespread introduction of Harm reduction interventions across East African countries.
