KANEM BORNO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT ASSOCITAION

Description of Organization: The organization was formed by group of young professionals who felt a need to make a difference to human development in their own small ways. The organization has done many projects since its inception in 2007.The NGO has a dozen staff and several volunteer staff. Furthermore, it has a well-structured organizational structure (see the attached organogram). The NGO has been up to date in its annual returns to CAC.
Impact of Organization in its Location: The NGO is a well-known member of the civil society organizations sector in Borno and Yobe States. Furthermore, it’s an active partner to BOSACA, YOSACA, Borno State Ministry of Women Affairs, and FADAMA III in Borno and Yobe States. Over 2,000,000 people have benefited from the activities of the NGO since its formation way back in 2007

Rationale for Recommendation: The NGO being an active organization working amongst vulnerable communities in Northern Nigeria primarily in Borno,Adamawa and Yobe states of Nigeria, currently the most vulnerable place to live in Nigeria because of poverty and insecurity should be considered for projects that could impact on the vulnerable members of the society and therefore collaboration with relevant partners will be a worthy development.

Concern: Culture sensitivity, projects execution in Northern Nigeria. Therefore, the NGO expects partners to be conscious of the cultural sensitivities of the people of Northern Nigeria when they intend to implement projects there
